This is the Sopwith Triplane that Mike Booth used at TopGun 1993 where he placed 19th. The model has also won other scale contests and scored highly for scale authenticity.
Using traditional construction, the triplane is easy to build and has no bad vices in flight. The laser cut parts set includes fuselage formers, bulkheads, fin and tailplanes cores in Poplar liteply, masses of wing ribs, riblets, interplane struts, wing tips plus many smaller parts. Just add strip to complete.
The 1/4 scale model spans 79 inches and suits 26-38cc engines, whilst the enlarged 1/3 model spans 106 inches and suits 38cc and up. Plans are available from Belair. NB the 1/3 model is based on an enlarged 1/4 plan and does use some non-standard wood sizes. Spars are standard though.
Both Parts Sets include full size plan set.
